beds

About a month ago, Mackenzie decided she didn't want to sleep in her crib anymore. She figured out how to climb out! Neither of my boys ever figured that out, so we were a little stumped at first.  As soon as we would put her in and walk out her door, she would already be out knocking and yelling for us to let her out. She has one of our extra love seat couches in her room, so I decided to try putting her to sleep on that. The first night she cried a little and ended up falling asleep on the floor by the door. The second night she cried a little bit, then went and climbed back onto the couch. For a few days it was like that, but then the rest was history. She has been sleeping on the couch like a champ since then while I looked for a toddler bed. My husband's awesome aunt Linell knew we were looking and got us a sweet deal with someone she knew. A white wood toddler bed with a new mattress for $20! I was stoked. So was Mackenzie if you can't tell. :-)

Once I got her bed set up, tucker and Cole were so sweet. Tucker gave her his pillow saying he didn't need it anymore, and then got one of his blankets for her as well. Then both of my sweet boys were loading up her bed with stuffed animal friends. :-) they helped tuck her in and she went to sleep peacefully in her big girl bed.

Last night, we read scriptures before bed, and Cole said our family bedtime prayer. He said some super sweet things that he was thankful for. After the prayer, Tucker said that the prayer made his eyes cry a little. I looked at him and his eyes were a little watery. He went around giving hugs and I explained to him he was feeling the Spirit. It was such a tender moment.

After I tucked the boys in, Tucker told me he was going to do something nice for me and Ryan in the morning. He wanted to make us breakfast in bed. Sure enough, I woke up tho cupboards being opened and closed in the kitchen. I went to see what was going on. Tucker was up on the counter and reminded me he was making breakfast. I had totally forgot. So, I went and got back in bed. He brought us a cup of water to share, a bowl of grapes to share, and two pieces of bread with honey on them. He was so proud, and we were too! He is such a thoughtful kid. I love him!
