1. Can we get a woop woop over here! I am FINALLY BACK TO MY PREPREGNANCY WEIGHT! It has definately taken a lot longer than my other post-pregnancy weight-loss adventures. With Tucker I lost all the baby weight + 10 pounds by the time he was about 4 or 5 months. With Cole, it was roughly 6-7 months.  But after Mackenzie, the baby weight took its sweet time to get off. I have been exercising every week since she was about 5 weeks old. And at least 4 times a week for the last month and a half, but no big differences. I was still pretty much the same weight for the last 3 months. I did officially stop breastfeeding when she was 11 months old (a few night feedings occured a little after 11 months, but those are no more!). She was beginning to bite, and she was not really interested in breastfeeding anymore. She likes her bottle! I was ok with the weaning process. I felt like I was ready to move on. It was a little bitter-sweet though! It means life is moving on, my baby is growing up.

So, for me anyway, I see a pattern of breastfeeding and weight loss. The longer I breastfeed, the longer my body held onto some storage. Which, I was actually ok with. I have really wanted to breastfeed to a year for all 3 babies, so with Mackenzie this was actually a tangible goal. I feel grateful for the 11 months I was blessed to provide for her. I am ready to have my body back now though! I am cutting calories, as in not eating as much as I have been to be able to breastfeed. I am not one to measure things out exactly. I used to be that way, but I feel like for me personally, I know my body and what it needs. I try to have plenty of all of the food groups, especially grains, veggies, and fruits at every meal. Since I work out hard, I do treat myself to yummy foods and desserts I used to cringe at. I can't deprive myself completely, or I will totally lose control when something scrumptious does take a seat on my plate. Anyway, for the official count, Mackenzie turns one on August 21, and so I think that makes 11.5 months for me to get back to my prepregnancy weight!

2. I hate using capital letters. When I am not writing an essay for college, I just have a really hard time capitalizing letters when I write. I get lazy and just don't want to! So, I'm going to practice more. Just FYI.

3. My face is going through a mid-MID-life crisis. It can't decide if it should get wrinkles, or bring me back to my pubescent years and cover itself in zits. So, being generous as it is, it's doing both! Any favorite beauty products out there? In particular, anti-aging products and foundation. I really hate my foundation right now, but I am not willing to pay like $40 or anything crazy like that. I feel like my foundation is just dull looking.... or maybe its just my skin? Who knows. But any ideas are welcome!

  2. Congratulations! I think some bodies hold onto a little bit while we're nursing. It feels good to be able to provide for them, but sometimes it'd be nice to have the lbs come off in a more timely manner! I don't know anything about make-up, but you always look fantastic!

  4. So I'm reading this late but I TOTALLY agree with you about your body holding on to the weight until after breastfeeding! I don't worry about my weight until I'm done breastfeeding but I also do my best to stay healthy (exercise and not eating too many cookies). It has been super hard to get rid of the weight after Emerson! I really like my foundation but it's an oil controlling one though. It's Mary Kay Medium coverage. And I highly recommend using AHA lotion. I get mine from acne.org cause it's cheaper per ounce. It would help with wrinkles, acne and glowing. If you're really having acne issues though, grab some 5% benzoyl peroxide at acne.org too.

  5. Lizzie, congrats on reaching your goal! It is harder with each baby I have too. This time it will probably take forever for me. And I understand about zits and wrinkles - so annoying! I swear by benzoyl peroxide too, but it does leave bleach spots on my towels even though I try to be careful. My face has freaked out from my pregnancy hormones and I am using something new that I really like. It's called Nixoderm and it has helped as much as the BP does, with no bleaching. And it is super cheap. I bought it online for about $3.50 I think. I haven't been able to find it in any stores though. Good luck!
